Description

Le Chat-Botté – Beau-Rivage Geneva: the most iconic fine-dining restaurant on Lake Geneva

Located within the Beau-Rivage Geneva luxury hotel on the prestigious Quai du Mont-Blanc, Le Chat-Botté embodies the excellence of contemporary French cuisine in Geneva. Awarded one Michelin star, it has long been a must-visit destination for discerning gourmets.

Refined cuisine crafted by a visionary chef

Under the direction of Chef Mathieu Croze —who trained under Anne-Sophie Pic and Cyril Lignac—Le Chat-Botté serves modern, elegant French cuisine, emphasizing local ingredients and refined creativity. The vegetarian menus are just as appealing as the signature dishes, such as lake trout or perfectly textured confit of lamb, accompanied by poetic desserts created by pastry chef Kevin Ollivier.

Among the appetizers, the cromesquis with two types of bacon and the coconut milk pea gazpacho, accented with candied strawberries, showcase remarkable precision and vibrancy of flavor. The sommelier recommends a wine list featuring 1,400 selections for exceptional pairings.

A luxurious setting blending Art Nouveau and subtle Baroque styles

The elegant decor blends Art Nouveau and contemporary Baroque styles, creating a cozy atmosphere bathed in soft light, where each table offers an intimate setting. In the summer, an upper terrace offers a panoramic view of the lake. Wine enthusiasts can also enjoy the lounge and wine pavilion at Beau-Rivage, one of Geneva’s oldest and most extensive.

A temporary closure for a fresh start

Its last service took place on April 12, 2025, before closing for an 18-month renovation. The establishment will reopen in its new form in 2027, blending the venue’s historical heritage with a modern twist.

A pop-up restaurant will be set up on-site during the renovation, offering a streamlined menu still curated by Mathieu Croze, along with an immersive experience that includes a behind-the-scenes tour during the final service  .
